Fort Hood 10-Miler Virtual Qualifier Run

The 10 miles must be completed in one run and validate they started no earlier than 7 a.m. and no later than 9 a.m. on 2020 September 1, 2 or 3. 

All runners are highly encouraged use one of the following apps to track their run time/distance: Strava, Fitbit or Garmin Connect. Any other apps used may require an additional timed run to verify runner’s capability to perform at the level they have submitted. IE: Runner may be asked to run a timed 5k or other distance by the sports director in order to verify ability.

There will be no medical support provided for the individual runners. Individual participants must be prepared for the physical nature of running 10 miles and will be individually responsible for their own health.

Qualifications

Runners must submit their results to the Fort Hood Varsity Sports Coordinator at montgomery.b.campbell.naf@mail.mil NLT 12 p.m. on the day that they ran the event, to be considered for the team. At a minimum, participants must submit verifying screenshot information to include: name, e-mail, age, gender, time started, distance ran in miles (kilometers will not be accepted), time ran and average rate of speed for the competitor.

Uniforms

Team uniforms will be provided for the top 6 finishers and time submittals per race category. Team members will wear team uniform while participating in the 2020 Army Ten-Miler Virtual Race and other marketing arenas.

Mandatory Meeting

The top male and female active duty Army qualifiers will be identified after time submissions have been given to the Fort Hood Varsity Sports Coordinator. A mandatory meeting for the 2020 Army Ten-Miler Virtual Race will be scheduled following the virtual qualifier. This meeting will discuss uniform sizes and plans for training for the Virtual Race. As a guide, previous qualifiers have met the following minimum qualifying times, for men that is 68:00 and for women it is 80:00.
