Must be 15 years of age by the last day of class student is in enrolled in.
Patrons may bring a towel and a change of clothes.

1. This course is a blended learning class. The student will receive a link for online materi-als about one week before the first day of class. They must complete their online materi-als by the first day of in person class. The online course is about 6 hours and once com-pleted they must print out a copy of the completion record at the end of the course and turn into the instructor on the first day of class.

2. They must attend all sessions of in person class to receive credit for the course. We will need their name, a personal email, and their phone number to set up their link in Red Cross for their online materials. Please call Abrams indoor Pool to register for the course. There are prerequisites that must be completed to continue in the course. Prerequisites will be conducted on the first day of in person class.

3. Prerequisites will be conducted on the first day of in person class. Complete a swim-tread-swim sequence without stopping to rest: Jump into the water and totally submerge, resurface then swim 150 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. (Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed). Maintain position at the surface of the water for 2 minutes by treading water using only the legs. Swim 50 yards using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, and timed brick test (10 lb. brick located in 12 ft.- They must start at the shallow end, swim to the brick, dive down and come back up with the brick, swim on their back while holding the brick with two hands back to the shallow end within 1:40.)
